Upward Bound (UB) is a college preparatory
program for 120 high school students in grades 9 –
12. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, UB prepares
participants to attend and graduate from college by providing
year round academic activities and services. UB offers academic
preparation for college through supplemental instruction,
after-school tutorials, and a 6-week summer component on
the campus of Texas Wesleyan University. Upward Bound provides
low-income and potential first generation students with
academic advising services; college and career exploration;
preparation for college entrance exams; and individual assistance
with college admissions and financial aid applications.
