How Does Targeted Outreach Work?
Targeted Outreach recruits youth through a referral system. At-risk youth are referred through schools, Club staff, courts, parents, law enforcement, and multiple social service agencies. Youth are also recruited into the program through direct outreach in the targeted communities. Once youth are recruited, they are made official members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. An intake assessment is completed on all program youth to determine what programs best meet their individual interest and needs.
Staff will monitor and track all program youth in four key areas to assess the progress made throughout the course of the program.
These key areas are:
-
behavior and participation with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth
-
behavior and academic performance at school
-
family interaction within the home
-
contact with law enforcement/court system
